General Rental Terms
DRIVER REQUIREMENTS In order to rent a vehicle from CARisma, the driver must:
Be at least 21 years old for Small, Medium, and Large Economy categories. For all other vehicle categories, the driver must be over 23 years old.
Hold a credit card accepted by CARisma for the pre-authorization of security deposits, down payments, and the settlement of rental costs (for non-prepaid bookings).
Have held a valid driving license for at least 1 year.
Possess a driving license issued by Greece, a European Union member state, or an International Driving Permit (for non-EU countries).
CREDIT CARD – CHARGES Internet bookings require a credit/debit card to be completed. In case of cancellation outside the specified time limits or failure to show up for the vehicle collection (No-Show), a fee will be applied (as described in the “CANCELLATION, NO-SHOW” section) to cover CARisma’s administrative costs.
For the collection of the vehicle, the holder of the card used for the booking must be present. The cardholder will be listed as the driver on the rental agreement. Most major credit/debit cards are accepted, including American Express, Visa, and MasterCard. Prepaid cards such as Revolut, N26, Monese, Crypto.com, etc., are not accepted.
If you choose to pay upon collection of the vehicle, your credit card will not be charged at the time of booking, but an amount of €77 plus VAT will be pre-authorized.
SECURITY DEPOSIT Upon collection of the vehicle, a security deposit will be blocked on the driver’s credit/debit card. This amount will be fully refunded at the end of the rental period, provided no additional charges arise. The release of the blocked amount may take up to 31 days, depending on the card issuer bank. The deposit amount varies by vehicle category:
Small: €300
Medium: €300
Large Economy: €500
VAN: €750
BOOKING CHANGES Changes to a booking can be made through the “cancellation/modification” section at www.carisma-rental.gr.
Changes to the renter’s name, the delivery station, the credit card number, or the vehicle category are not possible. In such cases, please cancel your existing booking and make a new one.
CANCELLATION AND NO-SHOW For prepaid bookings: If the cancellation occurs at least 72 hours before the start of the rental, the full booking amount will be refunded to your card without any further charges. Otherwise, the booking amount will be refunded minus a 75% deduction and a late cancellation fee of €40 plus VAT.
In case of a No-Show (failure to collect the vehicle), the booking amount will be refunded minus a No-Show fee of €77 plus VAT.
For bookings with payment upon collection: Cancellation is subject to a fee equal to 50% of the total booking amount. In case of a No-Show, the card used for the booking will be charged 75% of the total booking amount.
If, upon collection, the prospective renter does not meet the requirements listed in the “DRIVER REQUIREMENTS” section, the booking will be canceled. For both prepaid and “pay at station” bookings, the amount will be refunded minus a 75% deduction and a late cancellation fee of €40 plus VAT.
EARLY RETURN In the event that the vehicle is returned earlier than the date specified in the booking, no refund will be issued.
AVAILABILITY
All bookings are subject to availability. If we are unable to provide a vehicle in the category you booked, we will endeavor to provide a vehicle from the next higher category at no extra charge.
For “on request” bookings where availability must be confirmed first, prices may change without prior notice before payment and completion of the booking.
